How to Save or Download a SWF File
The SWF format incorporates audio, video and interactive
controls all in one file, making the SWF format a multimedia powerhouse. And
the format's generally compact size makes it great for embedding in Web pages,
where server space and streaming speeds are precious. However the often
embedded nature of SWF files make it hard for some users to save a permanent
copy of their favorite SWF content. But by using SWF capture software, you can
save your favorite SWF to your computer and play them whenever you
want--without having to visit the Web page that's storing them
- 1
Download and install a copy of Sothink Web Video
Downloader. Open the Sothink Web Video Downloader after you've installed it,
and click on the red "X" in the top right corner of the program. The
program will minimize to your task bar.
- 2
Navigate your Web browser to the Web page
containing the SWF video that you wish to download. Sothink Web Video
Downloader will display a box in the bottom right corner of your computer
screen labeled "Video Captured." Click on "Video Captured";
the "New Download" window will appear.
- 3
Click "OK" in the New Download menu to
begin downloading the SWF file. Right-click on the file after it's done
downloading, and then select "Open Folder" from the drop-down menu to
access the SWF file. You can also preview the file using the playback controls
in the bottom left corner of the Sothink Web Video Downloader.
